IS-505, GFP-001 Image Scanner Troubleshooting - Make sure your USB (How To) Ports are Version 2.0 , Scanner will not function with Version 1.1 USB Ports.
- This can be identified in the System Information or Device Manager screen USB2 Enhanced
- Error Cannot find Camera, Please connect omnivision supercam. The pc has not recognized the scanner yet. Try different usb ports. Desktop (rear Ports)
- Make sure to complete the calibration procedure.
- Scanners Trays only slide in one way, do not retract the tray backwards.
- Works with only XP and Vista Operating Systems, No Mac Version.
- USB ports on the back of Desktop models are recommended (front ports are not always 2.0).
- Sometimes switching USB ports will help.
- Delete older versions of Photo Impressions.
- Negatives show as negative image until transferred to the PC.
- Try disconnecting other USB devices, if computer is not recognizing the scanner.
- Pin Grabber error can be caused by other usb devices.Try disconnecting them.
- Scanner can take longer to correct over exposed photos.
- Wrong driver installed will cause black image. Check system 32 or 64 Bit.
- Scanner can not be plugged into a USB hub, unless it is a 2.0 High Speed Hub.
- Processor speed needs to be 800 mhz or higher.
- RAM 512 mb or higher recommended (scanner will work with 256mb)
- Check you system to see if it is 32 or 64 bit system (computer properties), This can cause the snapshot screen to be black, if the system is 64 bit.
- Scanner is designed to work on 32 Bit systems. We do have a patch for 64 Bit.
- Some wireless usb devices can interfere with the scanner's performance.
- Computer locks up after scanning 3 or 4 images, check video adapter driver for updates, from the Intel web site. http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/detect.htm
